Atlanta Beat Day!!

This is officially women’s soccer day in the Taylor household.  We’ll be hitting the Atlanta Beat game tonight, with Hope Solo (hopefully) between the sticks for magicjack.  My future World Cup goalie daughter is positively aglow at actually getting to see her hero in action.  I like Ms. Solo too.  One thing that I really respect about her is her willingness to sacrifice big bucks for a laid-back life.  She had an opportunity for a huge endorsement along Danica Patrick lines, but it would involve a lot of travel – and she’d rather renovate her house.  Also, the family commitment shows via the text exchange with her brother.

Maybe this means that America is starting to figure out money doesn’t mean everything..?  For so long, our country has been one of the poster child countries for over-consumption and plain materialism.  To pardon the grammar, if ya got the junk, but your emotional/spiritual life is all gunk…the junk is just junk.  If you’re drowning in a life problem, your wide-screen TV won’t save you, and sometimes can make the problem worse.   A lot of the households where we live have multiple television sets, multiple laptops, and what winds up happening is that everyone in the family is staring at their own little screen instead of looking at each other.  Heck, this might be a lot of what is eroding families today.

WOW!!  {Shaking out of dense thoughts from head}  We will be there as a family in person live at the stadium tonight cheering on American women sports heroes…and life can’t get much better.
